Goodbye November

Yesterday I had a photoshoot on the beach. It was one of the coldest days of the year so far and it made the beach wonderful. The shoot went great but I got there a little early to take some beach pictures. You'd think that living in Florida I'm there all the time, WRONG. But when it's this beautiful outside I can't help myself.
Sorry there are so many, but it was just too beautiful outside. I have to remember to head down there more often when the weather is this good.

Hail to the King, Baby

Some of you may remember from my old blog that I'm in love with Bruce Campbell. This has been a love going on since 1993, when I was just 9 years old. It all started with Brisco County Jr. I thought he was the coolest person alive because he was a cowboy and had a cool horse that he could communicate with. I know, I was easy to please. Fast forward to my 20's when I discovered Evil Dead and found out that Bruce had a career before Brisco! I was late to the Evil Dead party, but I caught up pretty quickly. When Steven and I first started dating he took me to my first convention in Miami. Guess who was there doing signings and a panel?? BRUCE. Sadly I didn't meet him, but Steven did and I took pictures. I would have been way to shy to say anything to him anyway.

Here are some photos of Bruce being impressed by Steven's cosplay of Ash

We also got to see his panel which was of course completely hilarious

But back to my story, I've wanted a Bruce Campbell related tattoo for awhile. I figured it was easiest to go with Evil Dead/Army of Darkness because it has so many amazing references:

Back in September I even dressed up as Ash for a cosplay convention:

This is all just a really long segue to say LOOK AT MY AWESOME NEW TATTOO:

Also, the chainsaw isn't crooked, I just apparently can't stand straight.

And I mean, not to brag or anything but it's so awesome that Bruce Campbell retweeted it:

We're basically besties now. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I had a wonderful meal with the family and then my husband took me to the theater my boyfriend James Franco's new movie Homefront. That was a run-on sentence, oh well.

Hope Rides Alone

I have been taking pictures of the Protomen for five years you guys. FIVE. I currently have 15 different sets of them on Flickr, and that's just the sets I've felt like editing. I've seen them in concert over 20 times now, all because of Steven of course, but still. What I'm trying to get at is, as much as I love them, I get sick of taking pictures of them. Not their fault of course, I just get bored with my pictures. I feel like it's the same thing over and over. Last year was a little different since they did their Queen set, but that's rare. So this year, I tried something different. I stepped outside of my comfort zone. I changed my aperture from 1.4 (I usually leave it on there for concerts since it's so dark) and actually played with the light. Instead of getting beautiful bright photos like I usually do, I got muted silhouette style pictures THAT I LOVE. Then, to make them even prettier, I edited them all with Sara Lynn Paige's Reminisce actions. These might be my new favorite pictures, I hope you like them as much as me!

All I Want For Christmas

Is it too early to make a Christmas wishlist? Oh well, it's only 10:00 on a Saturday and I have nothing to do until after 3:00 today so I'm making one. I haven't been on Pinterest in MONTHS so I was perusing it this morning and look at what it gets me. Honestly, I enjoy buying gifts for others more than I like getting them myself, but it's still fun to dream isn't it? So here are a few things I wouldn't mind for Christmas, in case any of my family decides to pop over.

This Harry Potter sweater (via soeffincute on etsy)

Jeffrey Campbell Litas, I've been asking for these for over a year. This time I included a link and my size. Hopefully Steven will get the hint. (via urban outfitters / picture via flickr)

A nice Lack shelf for more storage for books, preferably for the bedroom. (via ikea)

A new camera strap, I'm currently diggin' this one. (via iMoShop on etsy)

This ADORABLE ukulele case for my ukulele. I mean sure I can only play Adventure Time songs on it, but so what? (via cherijame on etsy)

And last but not least, this amazing pullover. Because, just look at it! (via Cakeworthy on etsy)

What are some things you're drooling over for Christmas?

Currently Reading

I have a problem with books. I love them so dearly that I just can't stop buying them. I've had a Nook for three years now, hasn't helped my problem at all. I guess it did for a little while, but I just don't enjoy reading on it as much as I enjoy picking up a real book. Here are some of the books I've bought in the past month:

Do you see how this is an issue? Of the nine that are pictured I have read six and am currently reading one of them. My favorite of all of them is "The Whole Golden World", but I've enjoyed every one so far. But I can definitely see myself re-reading "The Whole Golden World" at some point. I also picked up "Slammed" and "Ten Tiny Breaths" because they were recommended to readers who enjoyed "The Whole Golden World" so I am really excited to read them. "Slammed" is the book I'm currently reading and by that I mean I just bought it about an hour ago so I haven't started it yet hahahha.

Speaking of books, can you believe I forgot that Catching Fire came out last night? I feel like a horrible fan. But in my defense, I have been in all day trainings for the past few days instead of at work AND I had a court date yesterday that took up most of my day. So when a friend of mine said, "So are you going to go see Catching Fire tonight?" I was at a loss. Steven said he'd go with me on Sunday though so I suppose I can wait till then. BUT BACK TO MY PROBLEM. I need to stop buying books. I never utilize the library because I enjoy owning books but I've been out of room on my bookshelf for quite some time. All of our other bookshelves are filled with toys so I need to get another soon or something I don't know. Does anyone else have this problem? I  know I'm friends with a bunch of book nerds so you probably do. Ah well, I could be addicted to worse right?

I mean, they're just so pretty to look at. I know they say, "you can't judge a book by its cover", but I'm a sucker for a cute cover and an interesting description on the back. It doesn't take much for me to go, "oohhh that sounds good!" and head for the register. Sigh.

Saturday in gifs

Here are some of the things I've been up to on this fine Saturday:

Thinking about James Franco.

Getting ideas for cosplaying this fierce as hell, sassy, warrior bitch. Named Sif.

Watched a few episodes of Bob's Burgers for my spirit animal, Louise

Finished the book Stardust and I'm totally in love with it. I haven't been able to get into the movie yet, but everyone keeps telling me it's better? I'll give it another shot in a few days when I can separate the two from each other.

Enjoying Jennifer Lawrence on the Catching Fire press tour. I can't wait for the next movie.

And catching up on Parks and Rec, mostly because I love these two.

How has your day been going so far?
